Lisa London, CSA came to KD Studio/KD Conservatory, Dallas, TX on December 6 & 7, 2014 for a workshop for Teens and Children on auditioning for film and television.
The weekend started with an agents panel for parents to answer any questions about the entertainment industry and how to submit to an agent. Several agents came from: Kim Dawson, Campbell, Core, Clutts, Agency Dallas and Linda McAllister Agencies. KD Instructor, Phyllis Cicero sat in and commented that she learned so much in just that one hour on how the industry works for children and came away with very important information for her students who are wanting to start in the business.
There were about 50 students ages 8-18. Ms. London was very impressed with the talent from Dallas and said she could not wait to return.
Lisa London has a casting career that expands over twenty-five years. She grew up in show business and got her start in casting from working with her father, Jerry London who is a very well-known television director. She is currently in talks with Disney on two different projects and is currently casting the hit television series, Hit the Floor for VH1 which has begun shooting it’s third season.
She has discovered (along with her business partner, Catherine Stroud) and/or cast many notable actors and actresses early in their careers such as Miley Cyrus in the pilot of Hannah Montana, Jonah Hill in Grandma’s Boy, Emma Stone and Katharine McPhee in House Bunny, Selena Gomez in the Disney pilot of What’s Stevie Thinking, Jennifer Aniston in her first feature, Leprechaun, and Mark Ruffalo in the CBS series, Due South.
Lisa has cast a large number of hit television shows such as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody on the Disney Channel, Arliss on HBO, Roseanne on ABC, Supah Ninjas on Nickelodeon and Get A Life on Fox. She has also cast a number of movies including House Bunny and Grandma’s Boy for Happy Madison Productions and Stepfather for Screen Gems and the upcoming film, From the Rough which is based on a true story. From The Rough stars Oscar nominated, Taraji P. Henson and Michael Clarke Duncan.
Recently, Lisa released a book entitled, From Start to Stardom (A Casting Director’s Guide For Aspiring Actors) The book is a step-by-step guide which lays out what an actor needs to know to have the best shot at stardom.
