KD Studio Presents 2-Day Acting Intensive Featuring Casting Director Jane Jenkins

jane jenkinsAfter all of the countless hours of rehearsals, performances, classes, and late nights poring over and practicing lines, it all builds up to one moment that offers the chance to take the next step: the audition. Nail the audition and you could find yourself landing the role of your dreams – but first, you have to impress the casting director. And how better to learn how to do just that, than to learn directly from an accomplished movie and television casting director?

Join KD Studio as we present “Act, Sing, Stand Out” – an exclusive, intensive weekend workshop featuring renowned and award-winning Casting Director Jane Jenkins. Jenkins’ impressive career as a Casting Director spans more than three decades and over 175 projects, including:

  • Transformers
  • The Da Vinci Code
  • Friday Night Lights
  • A Beautiful Mind
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
  • Apollo 13
  • Jurassic Park
  • A Few Good Men
  • Home Alone
  • When Harry Met Sally…
  • The Princess Bride
  • Stand by Me
  • Labyrinth
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  • Red Dawn

Jenkins’ extensive work has been recognized by her peers in the industry, earning her a Primetime Emmy nomination as well as more than a dozen nominations for the Artios Award from the Casting Society of America. She is a five-time recipient of the Artios Award for Excellence in Casting, and was also awarded the Hoyt Bowers Award for Career Achievement from the CSA in 1999.

The workshop and series of classes are available for both kids/teens and adults, and will take place this weekend on Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24. Topics covered in the classes will include a breakdown of the audition process for television shows (including pilots), a casting director’s point-of-view in critiquing auditions and cold reads, and how to win over producers in the event of the coveted callback audition. We welcome actors of stage, film, and television to join us for this information-packed two-day event.
