KD Welcomes Andy Anderson!

KD Conservatory recently welcomed renowned Writer, Producer and Director, Andy Anderson, to faculty!

Andy is the writer and director of the independent feature hit, Positive I.D., (Universal Pictures) nominated for Best Picture at Sundance Film Festival. The film also made a number of  best lists and was one of only two American films to be chosen for the exclusive “New Directors/New Films” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

He has written screenplays for Universal Pictures, Hyperion Pictures’ Honeymoon in Moscow, and Paramount Pictures’ Eddie Nine Lives for Eddie Murphy Productions. His screenplay Look It Up was invited to participate in the Sundance Institute Director’s Lab.

In 2001, Andy completed his DETENTION (DVD release as Learning Curve) premiered to rave reviews (Four Stars! Film Threat Magazine) at the USA, AFI and SXSW festivals winning the Gold Award at Worldfest.

His feature films and short films, Ritual and Point of View, are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, The Carnegie Museums and others. Andy’s non-fiction feature Drive-by Shooting premiered on the German Television Network in the spring of 1995.

Former Head of the Department of Art, Writer in Residence and professor for the successful film program at the University of Texas at Arlington, Andy has a long list of accomplishments to celebrate.
